Gotta love Blonde moments in foreign places...

To get from Koh Samui to Koh Tao, I had to take another van ride to the pier, then a ferry to Koh Tao. It was only 2 hours via Lomprayah ferry. Cost of $18.00. Between the van ride and the ferry, I had time to spare so I wandered around and found my way to a pineapple smoothie. I am truly addicted to the goodness of this..... I declined vodka for this one ;)  The ferry ride was uneventful - I found a spot in the sunshine and saw yet another sunrise on the water. I arrived at Koh Tao and had my very own private driver waiting for me at the pier with my name on a sign. I immediately thought he was a creeper. I was simply having a very very large blonde moment.....

Those TWO people are wheeling FIVE suitcases full of stuff to the ferry. Meanwhile, I have been living out of a 55L backpack for TWO months…

At a midpoint stop on another island, vendors come to sell you things on the boat.. using creativity and a long reaching basket!

Arrival at Koh Tao

You have no idea how freaked out I was by this guy. Here was a random human with a big sign with the name of the resort hostel I was staying at.. and my name on it. How the heck did he know who I was? Or that I was staying there? Or that I was on THAT ferry for arrival???  And then, halfway through the ride to the resort I realized my blonde moment. EVERY single person arriving on Koh Tao comes by ferry. There is only ONE pier to the island. Therefore, if someone is scheduled to check in that day, they WILL be coming through that ferry pier.... and there are only 4 ferries a day... turns out, he is NOT a creeper as my brain originally went to...

The poor hotel kid refused to let me carry my own pack. It was nearly as big as he was. And I am on the 4th floor.
